Begun in 1817 in Detroit, the University of Michigan moved to Ann Arbor in 1837. In 1879 the school began playing football and writing the history books. Michigan is home to the winningest program in college football and boasts 11 National Championships including winning the first Rose Bowl in 1902. They achieved 40 consecutive winning seasons from 1968 – 2007. The Michigan Wolverines play in Michigan Stadium which is known as "THE BIG HOUSE" due to its record of over 115,000 fans on game day on Sept. 7, 2013 vs Notre Dame (even more amazing considering the capacity of the stadium is 109,901.) Arguably the biggest rivalry is between Michigan and Ohio State but the Wolverines currently hold the winning record in the series. Welcome to THE BIG HOUSE, "Go BIG BLUE!!!"
