  • 1 The Grumman F6F Hellcat destroyed 75% of the enemy’s aircrafts during WWII.
  • 2 PBY Catalina was a WWII Navy seaplane and is used today as an aerial firefighting plane.
  • 3 The Grumman TBF Avenger was an outstanding torpedo bomber in WWII.
  • 4 The US Navy Blue Angels were formed in 1946. They currently fly the F/A-18 Hornet.
  • 5 The U.S. UH-3H Sea King is used in anti-submarine warfare.
  • 6 The U.S. Navy trained in the Stearman Model 75 Biplane throughout WWII.
  • 7 The F4U Corsair was nicknamed the “Whistling Death” because of the unique sound it makes when diving at high speeds.
