February 2 has been known for centuries as Groundhog Day, the day when humans look to a chubby, meteorologically gifted rodent to tell us if there will be 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring. Growing out from the German Christian tradition of Candlemas, Groundhog Day has become part of the American collective consciousness. Eric takes on Groundhog Day with his painting of Woodstock, IL where the famous movie by the same name was filmed. In his painting he not only pays homage to the classic film but also to the charm and character if this great little town. Turn back the clock and spend some time in Woodstock, IL for Groundhog Day. Will he see his shadow?

It took me a couple tries

IMO opinion one of the truly mind-blowing Dowdle puzzles, centered on a beloved movie and finding the humor and foolishness of a truly happy holiday. My confession: it took me a long time to see that the hero of Groundhog Day (the movie) has multiple representations. I hope that admitting this doesn't constitute what is now known as a "spoiler."

Exceptional art!

We are both artists living in Woodstock. Simply fascinated when we first saw Erik’s work of our famous square. So fun & so much talent...can’t wait to peruse more of his work! Yikes! We love puzzles as well!!

Good Old Woodstock

Fun movie with Bill Murray! But I enjoyed all the scenes from the movie within the puzzle picture...on the square! Having grown up in Woodstock, I remember it well.....enjoy!
