I am totally dazzled by "Las Vegas Strip", but I think "Best of the World" is still the best. The design..the layering of maps, tiny figures, buildings, famous sites, natural icons, etc etc is ASTOUNDING; it's almost impossible to imagine how this was actually done. CAUTION-- you really need to take your time with this one (I own both 500 and 1,000-piece versions). But as complicated and detailed as it is, EVERY PIECE is like a miniature, jewel...a MOSAIC piece that fits together like a work of precious art (this is true of all of Dowdle's best puzzles, including Best of Florida, EXODUS (!), etc).
I have only one personal reservation about one of the figures depicted outside of the White House, whom I feel does not merit inclusion in this great work. But I'll ignore it, since the totality of this work of art is so stunning. LR
Really fun to build and see all the tiny details!! Educational too!
I love to work on challenging puzzles with my kids. Good family time.
I work a Dowdle puzzle every January to help me soothe my Christmas nerves. Started this habit when they came in the box that looked like a suitcase. I've loved every one of them but this one almost ate my lunch...remember I said almost because I did work it and felt very accomplished when I put in the last piece.
