This is Day of the Dead, a huge holiday focused on families celebrating their deceased relatives coming back to visit the land of the living. Dating back nearly 3,000 years ago, families still gather together to respect, cry and laugh along with their ancestors. That’s why instead of skeletons portraying death in a fearful way, they signify how death is part of life, or another way of looking at it, we can laugh in the face of death. Day of the Dead is celebrated from November 1st through the 2nd, with people, skeletons smiling and a few famous faces filling the streets. So come on down to Mexico City in this folk art puzzle and party until dawn!

I've acquired and enjoyed many Dowdle puzzles. Now it seems the site has made leaving reviews simple. (Is that new?) This puzzle is of the high quality I've come to expect from this company. It is flamboyant enough to delight the eye, complicated enough to engage the mind, and has details that encourage the puzzler to do cultural research. It--and all the other Dowdles--have provided me with hours of pleasure.

Almost As Entertaining as If I Was There

My first Dowdle Puzzle and I was amazed by the definition, brilliant colors and now I want to see Day of the Dead for myself. Covid notwithstanding, I had to begin another soon as I finished this one. PLUS,I ordered ten 500 piece puzzles for grandchildren and a 1,000 piece puzzle as a congratulations present for my nephew just promoted to Major.
