I bought 2 Dowdle puzzles as a Christmas present a couple years ago for my husband who is a jigsaw fanatic. He just retired and we figured it was time to get started on Santa's Workshop. We broke open the 1,000 piece on Monday afternoon and finished it on Wednesday
a little less than 48 hours. (I told you he was a jigsaw puzzle fanatic.) It has to be one of the most challenging puzzles we have tackled. So even if you are a pro, it should give you a run for your money and well worth the very reasonable price. Now we are excited to open the other one we have. The one with the air balloons.
I've done four Dowdle puzzles, and I think they were all fun to put together. However, this one is the most challenging puzzle I've ever done, and much more challenging than other Dowdle puzzles. On most Dowdle puzzles, there are distinct colors such that you can pretty much tell approximately where on the puzzle a piece will go. Not this one. The snow and clouds are similar colors, so a piece can go at the top or the bottom; and the pine trees are scattered across the puzzle. Also, some of the pieces are tiny and/or very unusual shapes. As a previous reviewer also experienced, I ordered the 100 piece version and received the 1000 piece version. I might have returned it, except for having many idle hours during Coronavirus isolation. Despite all those issues. . . I was enthralled with this puzzle! The artwork is beautiful, and the scene of Santa's Workshop is charming.
Just finished this. It's so pretty I will hate to put it away
Our family bought this puzzle thinking it was the easy 100 piece set and opened it up to realize we had bought the 1000 piece difficult version! We were up for the challenge and brought out the card table and got to work! It took us a good 2 weeks, working on it together as a family but whenever we were stumped we raised our fist to the sky and shouted, “Not today Eric Dowdle!” and persevered. We are big fans!
we loved this one
